Vanna Pianfetti Announces Campaign For Champaign City Council District 5

CHAMPAIGN, IL – Champaign resident and educator Vanna Pianfetti today announced her candidacy for Champaign City Council in District 5.

“Living and raising my family in District 5 has led me to increasingly pay attention to issues that come before the City Council,” said Pianfetti. “As I’ve learned more about the issues facing our City, I realized that I could best continue my service to our community by running for Council in the April 2017 election.”

Pianfetti lives in southwest Champaign, is married to Brian Pianfetti and they have four children: Matthew (13), Emmie (12), Nicholas (11) and Lucas (9). She works as the District Engagement Coordinator for IlliniCloud, and previously as a Professional Development Coordinator for the Illinois State Board of Education and as an Assistant Dean for the University Of Illinois College Of Education. She has volunteered with the Champaign-Urbana Schools Foundation, Three Hierarchs Philophtochos, Franklin Middle School Booster Club and Centennial Soccer Booster Club, and numerous other community organizations.

Residents of District 5 interested in circulating petitions for Pianfetti may email or call217.417.2417.
